Sportsmen's Tennis Club was founded with the belief that tennis is a vehicle which life lessons can be learned and character developed. Our mission is to raise academically and physically healthy young adults, with a passion for learning and a commitment to excellence in all facets of life. In a multi-cultural setting, we teach the value of personal investment, achievement and teamwork.
Our umbrella of enrichment programs, all of which include tennis instruction, includes:
Ready Position: a comprehensive after-school academic enrichment program for children in grades K – 5. With a focus on early literacy and basic math, we strengthen the gateway subjects that allow children to thrive in any academic environment. Ready Position engages high school students as 1:1 tutors with younger students, under the direction of a licensed teacher and special educator.
Math*STARS: a program for students in grades 6 – 9, designed to build high-level math and science skills in urban students, run under a partnership with MathPOWER and Northeastern University. College students are engaged in 1:1 tutoring, under the direction of a MA Promise Fellow.
