Toni Wiley, Executive Director of Sportsmen’s Tennis & Enrichment Center
Toni has been a consultant and board member at STEC since 2003. Most recently
serving as Executive Director of One Family Inc., Toni brings nearly 10 years
of non–profit managerial experience, combined with over 15 years of executive
experience in the corporate sector. This includes positions with Jane Doe, Inc.,
the MA Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, the Partnership
for Excellence in Jewish Education, TJX Companies, New Balance Athletic Shoe
Company, Digital Equipment Corporation and Stride Rite Corporation. She has
also consulted with the United Way of MA Bay, among other organizations.
Ms. Wiley’s unique blend of corporate and non–profit experience
make her an excellent choice to lead Sportsmen’s, a
community–based non–profit club serving Boston’s
low–income and minority neighborhoods for nearly 50 years. She holds
Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Northeastern University
in purchasing and management, and maintains a Federal U.S. Customs Brokerage
license. She resides in Dorchester, just minutes from Sportsmen’s Tennis
& Enrichment Center. |

Nadine Pankins-Houston, Enrichment Director
Ms. Houston leads all of our academic and social enrichment programs including summer camp. Ms. Houston works in Special Education in the Newton public schools working closely with children, parents and teachers. At Sportsmen’s she has developed gender specific programs for both boys and girls as well as led the growth of our academic and camp programs. She also hires and supervises Boston Youth working at Sportsmen’s through several programs including Boston Youth Fund and the MLK Scholars. A long time Boston resident, Ms. Houston is a gifted educator and mentor of young people. |

Carlos Telles, Director of Finance
Carlos has 15 years of experience in fiscal and administrative management in the non-profit sector including Director of Finance and Administration for Educators for Social Responsibility, a national education consulting organization and controller for La Alianza Hispana. His skills including audit oversight, collaborative budget development and management with senior managers and program staff, human resource management and fiscal reporting. |

Anne Greenbaum, Director of Institutional Advancement
Anne manages our Match Point Community Outreach Program and works with the Executive Director to fundraise to support the programs and overall operations of Sportsmen’s. Anne has over 30 years experience in the non-profit sector primarily with organizations focusing on youth development with an emphasis on sports based youth development. She has managed several programs that partner with the Boston Public Schools and has conducted thousands of conflict resolution workshops for Boston students and teachers. She lives in Boston, less than 10 minutes from Sportsmen’s. |

Bonnie McBride, Director of Individual Giving
Bonnie manages our individual giving program, including our new tiered membership program and our outreach to prospective new members and friends of Sportsmen’s. She has worked in development for over 30 years, primarily in secondary and higher education, including the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Cathedral High School in the South End. She got her first tennis racket at age ten—and has been playing ever since. |

Tia Lites, Academic Coordinator
Tia has been connected to STEC since the age of 14. Her initial duties as a young teenager were to support the administrative staff during the summer camp. What began as a summer job through the employment collaboration of Boston Youth Fund and STEC has evolved into a leadership position in the organization. Tia coordinates academic and enrichment programs through The Learning Center at STEC. |

Kern Johnson, Operations Manager
A fixture at Sportsmen’s Kern is a jack of all trades. He can be found driving the van, coordinating class rosters, staffing the front desk, moving furniture and generally making things work. He is also a talented DJ. |

Sandra Almeida, Front Desk
Sandra is the calm daytime presence at the front desk during the week. She takes care of numerous administrative tasks while providing great customer service. |

Jovan Jordan-Whitter, Director of Competitive Tennis
Jovan is originally from Bermuda and has represented his country in Davis Cup competition. He also grew up playing at Sportsmen’s before studying and playing at UMass, Boston. Coach Jovan focuses on our high-performance Junior programs, Tournament Training I, II and III. He also coaches the Women’s A team, assists with the Men’s B & C teams, and provides support to the coaches of the other adult teams. Through a combination of clinics and private lessons led by our entire coaching staff, Jovan ensures that we are helping adults and Juniors compete to the best of their ability. |

Pamela Boykin, Director of Developmental Tennis
Pam is from Boston and grew up playing at Sportsmen’s. She attended and played tennis at Mobile University, Alabama, and holds a bachelor’s degree in health/physical education. Coach Pam oversees the Pee Wee, Red, Orange, Green and USA Tennis Programs. She works with Coach Daniel to ensure that our Junior Team Tennis Program is providing developmental competitive play opportunities for our Juniors. She also oversees the adult developmental clinics and the Women’s B and C tennis teams. |

Jelani Haynes, Director of Community Tennis
Jelani is from Boston and a product of Sportsmen’s, where he played as a Junior before heading to Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. He has been instrumental in building our Community Tennis Programs from a reach of about 600 students 2 years ago to over 1500 today. His efforts include the Volley Against Violence program, which runs in conjunction with the Boston Police Department. Coach Jelani continues to explore and execute community partnerships that allow us to bring tennis into the lives of youth and families that might not have a clear path to participate in our traditional tennis programs. He also works in our 10-&-Under tennis program and coaches our adult teams. |

Robert
Amartey
Originally from Ghana, Robert has represented his country in Davis Cup competition. He holds his certification from the ITF and PTR (Professional Tennis Registry), and has been living in the US for 10 years. Robert works primarily with our Tournament Tennis program. |

James Banks
Mr. Banks has a long history at Sportsmen’s and currently works in our 10-&-Under and Community Tennis programs. He has extensive experience teaching sports and athletics to children in the Boston area, and is a member of the USPTA. |

Glover
Hajji has been coaching and
teaching at the Sportsmen’s
for 18 years. He
has been the Director of Tennis
at the Charlestown Community
Center for the past 7-9 years.
He coaches part–time in
the weekend programs while also
teaching private lessons at
Sportsmen’s. He played
collegiate tennis for the University
of Massachusetts, Boston. Hajji
is USPTA and USPTR certified. |

Jimmy Hite
Jimmy has been part of Sportsmen’s for many years and works primarily in our Community Tennis programs. He has also served as a high school coach and coordinated tennis programs at Carter Playground. |

John Indrisano
John is a Boston native who played college tennis at Bridgewater State University. He holds his certification from the PTR, primarily working with our Tournament Tennis program. John also works with our adult teams and High School Tennis program. |

Daniel is from Northwest Florida and holds his certification from the PTR. He works primarily with our 10-&-Under tennis program and, alongside the Director of Tennis, coordinates our Junior teams. |

From Santander, Columbia, Maria studied and played tennis at South Eastern State, Oklahoma, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. She works primarily with our Tournament Tennis program and has also worked as a high school coach. |
